Marketing professionals have flocked to download a recent white paper, 'Public Relations vs Search Marketing', which investigates the crossover between search marketing and public relations.

Public Relations versus Search Marketing - Clash or Collaboration? has been downloaded over 400 times in less than four weeks since publication The document identifies a trend that search marketing agencies and search engine optimisation (SEO) agencies are beginning to offer online PR advice and services, crossing over into the realm of the PR professional

Daryl Willcox, the paper's author and chairman of the company behind SourceWire, Response Source and FeaturesExec, said: "The response to this white paper has been nothing short of incredible; it's not just the number of downloads, I've had tons of feedback from people too.

"It just goes to show how much interest there is in online PR now that organisations are beginning to realise the benefits".

Since the publication of the whitepaper on 4 April 2007, public relations professionals ranging from account executive level right up to PR director and agency chief executive have downloaded the document.

It has also been popular among the search marketing community.

Willcox added: "I'm really pleased by this reaction - it shows that I have touched a nerve with this white paper - there are clearly many people out there who want to know more about how PR can influence SEO and help drive business online".
