Guide advises on press release writing
Small and startup businesses can get free advice on gaining publicity and increasing website traffic thanks to a recently published white paper.
The white paper, Press Release Writing and Distribution - a Step-By-Step Guide for Small and Medium Businesses, explains how press releases can help boost business for growing companies and provides practical advice for planning, writing and distributing press releases.
Written by media company founder and former journalist Daryl Willcox, the whitepaper describes how new technology has made press releases more powerful and easier to distribute than ever before.
Willcox, chairman of online media services company Daryl Willcox Publishing, said: "Some may think the press release is an old-fashioned tool for the exclusive use of the PR professional, but this couldn't be further from the truth.
"With a little guidance, any owner manager or small business marketing person can prepare their own press releases and use the internet to reach a massive audience".
The white paper also includes advice on how to use online press release distribution to boost traffic to websites.
This simple technique, known as 'search optimising' press releases, helps to bring websites further up results on search engines.
Willcox added: "The press release has become a fantastic way for smaller businesses to raise their profile and compete with the big boys without the need to blow the marketing budget".
