GadgetTrak is the new addition to the MicroRiver, iSecure USB range, and there is nothing like it on the market today.

MicroRiver, the UK-based manufacturer of secure USB flash devices, has signed an exclusive deal with GadgetTrak, based in Portland, Oregon, to offer the world's first USB flash device with a unique tracking solution if the device is lost or stolen David Ewen of David Ewen Marketing, MicroRiver's appointed iSecure USB reseller, explained more about the world's first traceable USB flash device: "This amazing device has a unique tracking solution if the device is lost or stolen

"The Software from GadgetTrak USB is GadgetTrak's patent-pending theft recovery system for removable media devices.

"This remarkable software is installed on the MicroRiver iSecure USB Flash devices".

The iSecure is already becoming a firm favourite with security conscious businesses and organisations because of the biometric fingerprint and password security facilities.

MicroRiver have worked with a number of high-profile UK customers including 15 UK Police forces, providing solutions for the ever-growing concerns of data security.

The new smart USB will be a formidable weapon in the arsenal of data security devices, available to those smart enough to realise the threat that data-loss and theft now presents.

Ewen continued: "GadgetTrak USB is triggered when the storage device is accessed from a host system, or the user attempts to access specific files.

"When the agent is triggered, it communicates with GadgetTrak's server transparently via an encrypted connection, even circumventing many common firewalls.

"If the device has been reported stolen, GadgetTrak USB collects information from the host system.

"Data is then delivered to GadgetTrak and a report is generated with the time, username, computer name, internal network address, location (country, state/region, city), ISP information and other data that relates to that connection instance".

Other data collected by the Gadget Trak USB and "sent home" in its report include its "activities" and even a map of where the device has been connected over time.

In the event the device has been stolen, GadgetTrak will also personally follow up with you to assist in the recovery of your device and can assist law enforcement with technical support as needed.

Majid Ali.Sales Director at MicroRiver, commented: "MicroRiver has seen a huge demand for their range of secure USB flash devices.

"Data security is paramount for any business moving data, since USB Flash drives have been a preferred medium for data transport, our devices are perfect for sensitive data leaving the corporate network.

"Working with GadgetTrak we are able to offer a unique solution to enable devices lost or stolen to be tracked and safely returned to the rightful owner".

Norman Shaw, Sales Director of ExactTrak UK, Official UK Distributor of GadgetTrak, commented: "Theft of data is now a very significant problem for everybody.

"The combination of the unique MicroRiver biometrics and GadgetTrak on these USB drives is one of the most advanced security procedures that anyone can take.

"We are delighted to have been selected by MicroRiver to partner them in helping their customers to protect their valuable data".
