CMP Information (CMPi), the B2B communications division of United Business Media, is to develop its B2B customer database comprising data from around 20 industry sectors.

The award-winning, international media solutions company has appointed customer data specialist Database Group to develop, host and evolve the new single view B2B database.

Bringing together data from disparate systems from over 15 countries, the system will enable CMPi to enhance its capability to produce targeted, relevant and accurate communications across its entire customer and client base.

Other priorities include identifying and maximising cross and up-sell opportunities in order to develop customer relationships and increase overall business performance.

With products encompassing magazines, exhibitions, conferences, awards and websites, CMPi has contracted Database Group to develop a sophisticated CRM solution to meet its needs across a broad spectrum of clients in the UK.

The fully integrated solution from will be modular, flexible and scaleable to accommodate growth and capable of evolving to meet changing business and market demands.

Speaking of the new database, Catherine Pendleton, Database Marketing Manager at CMPi, commented: "CMPi are looking beyond building a system for simply managing current day-to-day processes.
