Digital agency Crayon has been appointed to create and host a new website for BT's sponsorship of the Isle of Wight Festival.

The site will provide a last-chance opportunity for music fans to buy tickets for the sold-out event which takes place this summer, as well as hosting a competition for one unsigned band to play live on stage as the opening act The website, which launched mid-April, has seen Crayon creating a cutting-edge look for BT, helping to position the brand as an entertainment provider to the site's target audience of music lovers, festival goers and undiscovered bands

The site will feature regular updates and news feeds from the festival until September 2008.

The appointment extends BT's relationship with Crayon, which already works for the communications company across its TV, telephone and broadband offerings.

"This is a really exciting project for BT", said Sam Calvert, senior marketing manager BT Retail.

"Crayon not only impressed us with its creative, but it produced a great community website for the BT Digital Music Awards (DMAs) last year".

Simone Sulsh, partner at Crayon, added: "BT is doing some really exciting work in the online marketing space and the Isle of Wight Festival is no exception, with the brand taking an innovative approach to reaching the youth market.

"We're proud to be working with them on this project".

The project will also be a vehicle to promote BT's sponsorship of the festival, containing exclusive information about BT's activities before and at the festival.
