Code Computerlove has been appointed by Lancashire Constabulary to develop a digital strategy and help the force define how best to use online channels to communicate messages to the public.

The agency is also handling an anti-social behaviour Facebook campaign for the police force and its partners, which launched this month.

'Digital is a vital channel for us to help raise our profile as well as improve community engagement, particularly in the current climate of budgetary restrictions in the public sector and the need to demonstrate value for money,' said Jane Astle, head of corporate communications at Lancashire Constabulary.

Chris Heg from Code Computerlove said: 'We will be looking at Lancashire Constabulary's website through to its social media presence to devise a strategy for how they can use digital marketing to best effect.

'There is a constant evolution between technology and consumer behaviour.

'The shift towards "social" thinking and the emergence of fundamental platforms such as the mobile, tablet and soon IPTV are bigger strides than we have seen before, which we will be taking into consideration for keeping Lancashire Constabulary in the public eye.
