Sharwood's adds spice to its website
Consumers are set to experience the full and diverse flavours of Asia through a newly developed interactive website from Sharwood's.
The new site, which went live on 10 August, has been specifically designed to enhance consumers' online brand experience and encourage them to experiment with different world cuisines in the comfort of their own home.
The site, developed by Manchester based digital marketing agency Code Computerlove, will strengthen Sharwood's brand identity as the UK's leading Asian cuisine expert through the latest digital trends and technologies - bringing in aspects of social networking to its online presence.
The new site's primary focus is to educate and inspire consumers about how they can create appetising and authentic dishes by incorporating the Sharwood's product portfolio into their daily meal plans, allowing the Sharwood's consumer to control their brand experience online and interact more - by sharing recipe ideas, rating recipes, taking part in surveys and providing feedback on the range.
Sandrine Pirovano, Sharwood's Brand Manager, said: "Changes to the site support the evolution of Sharwood's brand proposition, from a singular product focus to an emphasis on co-creating fresh meals with Sharwood's using our entire range.
"There is more meal inspiration, tips and recipes all designed to reinforce Sharwood's food credentials, understanding and know-how, which we share with customers, so if consumers are stuck in a Korma rut or too apprehensive to try something new, Sharwood's provides a food solution via the site.
"There's even a section for clues on why a meal perhaps didn't go to plan".
To enable a more personal experience, visitors are encouraged to register on the site as a member, receive an e-newsletter, enter competitions and take part in online polls.
The site also talks directly to the consumer asking 'What would you like to eat today?' allowing meal and recipe ideas to be shaped by the three or four answers given.
The site will also be a vehicle to communicate new product launches and meals for key events and occasions.
Pirovano added: "Building on the success of the site that Code created for us in 2004, we hope to reaffirm Sharwood's as a range of products to help create lots of varied, exciting meals - not just a brand of sauces to go with chicken.
"People are sometimes unaware that Sharwood's offer a range of products from curry pastes to noodles, and much more, which makes it easy to create delicious meals in minutes.
"The new website will show people how Sharwood's can be a one-stop-shop and encourage them to cook new and exciting recipes".
Project manager at Code Computerlove, Deborah Muirhead, said: "In addition to the consumer-facing enhancements, developing phase two of the Sharwood's site has allowed us to embrace new technologies and to optimise web traffic.
"We are supporting the site with e-marketing and have developed a programme of strategic links and strategic partnerships".
The new site will also be supported by PR activity by Storm.
