Clear expands into Scotland
Manchester-based strategic marketing company Clear Marketing Communications has consolidated its offer north of the border with a new office in Glasgow and the creation of four jobs.
The new office in Woodside House, Woodside Place, will service existing Clear clients as well as provide a base for further Scottish growth Clear's managing director Jim Smith said: "Our appointment by Edinburgh-based CALA Homes last year spearheaded our move to Scotland, but we also have other clients operating in the region including Real Radio, Millie's Cookies and the McArthurGlen outlet in Livingston, so it seemed the natural progression for our business

Huw Watkins joins kae as account director
Huw Watkins, an expert in market entry strategy and proposition development, has been named account director at kae: marketing intelligence - a leading UK marketing strategy firm.
"We bring a wealth of experience to the country: clients can benefit from the wide range of services offered within the Clear Group including Clear Marketing Communications, Clear Consulting and Clear Presentations".
Smith continued: "While the Scottish market is well served, Clear offers a subtle but discernable difference.
"We have built our business in a careful and consolidated way in England, by attracting blue-chip clients - such as Brother, Mercedes-Benz, McArthur Glen, My Travel and GMG Radio - who respond to our approach to strategic planning, which combines as much emphasis on business strategy as it does the communications plan.
"This not only results in outstanding creative work, but also impacts on the bottom line.
"We're looking for clients who want and need this difference in their communications." Smith added: "While technology has broken down geographical boundaries, we believe in the personal approach to business; and given the size and scale of our client base in Scotland, from a client servicing point of view, it was important we have people on the ground".
Clear's Scottish office will be run by Matthew Mitchell as Client Services Director, who will be supported by three full time members of staff.
Smith said: "Our new business drive in Scotland will focus not just on Glasgow but on Edinburgh too.
"We believe our ability to deliver communications solutions that add measurable shareholder value and proven track record with blue-chip clients will really shake up the industry and get Scotland's businesses asking why their agency does not offer that.
"Our appointment of four members of staff is just the start of an ongoing recruitment programme and ambition to grow our Scottish offering to the same size as the Manchester office.".
