Seventy up for Classic British Hotels

A Classic British Hotels product story
Edited by the Marketingservicestalk editorial team Apr 30, 2008

Leading independent consortium Classic British Hotels has kicked off 2008 in style with the addition of three new properties to its portfolio.

Classic British Hotels now represents 70 high-quality 3, 4 and 5 star properties.

Coming on the back of eight new properties in the last quarter of 2007, the company has seen significant growth over the last two years, and continues to attract more top-end properties in Britain.

The three properties that have most recently signed up are Weetwood Hall in Leeds, Hoole Hall Country Club Hotel in Chester and Queens Hotel, Portsmouth.

However, as Classic British Hotels' CEO Len Louis explained, the growth blueprint is not based on adding new properties at the expense of quality: "All Classic British Hotels meet tightly defined quality criteria for membership.

"Anyone who stays in a hotel needs to know that the highest standards and professional service will be provided; that's why we only accept top-end properties in the three to five star band for membership".

All three new members are steeped in history.

Weetwood Hall incorporates a 17th century manor house set in nine acres of parkland just four miles north of Leeds' city centre and a similar distance from Leeds/Bradford airport, boasting a purpose-built, 37-room conference centre and 106 bedrooms.

Two miles from Chester, Hoole Hall is also a manor house, dating from the 18th century, with four junior suites and a presidential suite added to 62 executive or deluxe rooms.

The Queens Hotel in Portsmouth is a grand Edwardian building set on Southsea's seafront and looking out over the Solent, with 72 bedrooms and six meeting rooms able to seat up to 150 delegates.

The full range of properties under the Classic British umbrella can be found on the new re-vamped website.
