Ciao Surveys, specialising in internet surveys, and Ciao, specialising in comparison shopping, have become two separate entities to clarify management operations and grow business.

Ciao, the European subsidiary of Greenfield Online, a worldwide leading provider of internet survey solutions and a leading provider of comparison shopping in Europe, accomplished a major step by separating its businesses into legally and operationally independent entities for Comparison Shopping and Internet Survey Solutions on 1 May 2007 Greenfield Online made the strategic decision to separate the businesses to afford each management team a clearer view into the operations of their business, with the goal of further strengthening the leadership position and growth opportunities of each business

As separate operating entities, the management teams of each business can grow and develop the businesses according to their specific needs and focus completely on the opportunities in each of their respective markets.

This separation enables Ciao Surveys, together with Greenfield Online, a leading online sample and fieldwork provider in North America, to more fully integrate on a global basis and adopt a uniform worldwide operating platform for its market research activity.

"It will allow us to increase our operating efficiency and strengthen our position as a global provider of online sample focused on delivering superior service and quality," said Managing Director Nicolas Metzke.

Comparison shopping-focused Ciao will reinforce its leading market position in Europe by continuing to innovate and differentiating its portals by offering visitors to its shopping portals new products, features and supporting tools in the online shopping lifecycle.
