Mirri creates metallic invitation for Specsavers
Mirri, a division of Celloglas, has enabled the production of a digitally-printed sparkly metallic invitation for Specsavers's 'Strictly Specsavers' annual midsummer ball.
Craig Le Lerre, head of artwork and design at Specsavers, identified a purple Mirri Silk material and found that with guidance from Mirri and digital printer Image Evolution, a short-run digitally-printed invitation could be produced with what are described as spectacular results.
Mirri has created a metallic invitation with a decadent feel and sparkly stars where the spot UV varnish brings back the shine of the metallic Mirri material
Andy Kirby, operations manager at Mirri, said: 'Working together with Image Evolution, the production method we used has produced a fantastic result with minimum material waste.
'We started with Mirri H purple, a Sapphire coating was applied, then Image Evolution digitally printed white to the metallic side and four-colour to the reverse with its HP Indigo 5500 press (with installed white-ink printing capabilities).
'A silk laminate and spot UV varnish was then applied by Celloglas on the print-finishing side,' he added.
The result is a metallic invitation with a decadent feel and sparkly stars where the spot UV varnish brings back the shine of the metallic Mirri material.
Gary Mitchell, sales director of Image Evolution, said: 'We are excited about having the ability to produce high-quality short-run invitations on a premium material such as Mirri.
'We can also personalise invitations with text and images or both.
