Rene Carayol, presenter of BBC2's 'Pay Off Your Mortgage In Two Years', is headlining The Business Consort Entrepreneur event on 27 September in Manchester.

You don't need to win The Apprentice or be a genius to become a successful entrepreneur The answer lies right here in Manchester as renowned business guru and media personality Rene Carayol is guest speaker at The Business Consort Entrepreneur event on 27 September at 6pm at Manchester Conference Centre, Weston Building, Sackville Street, Manchester M1 3BB

Attendees will receive a FREE copy of Carayol's 'Mind of a Millionaire' DVD worth over GBP10.

Business Consort is presenting an evening with Carayol to see if you have what it takes to become a successful entreprenuer and turn your life around.

Carayol has a wealth of successful business experience having mentored some of the world's most influential leaders including the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit and the Home Office.

His messages are practical, inspiring and most importantly easy to implement.

At this event, the business guru will be showing you how you can develop a successful business, clear your debts and find financial freedom.

Carayol said: "Success is not about intellect or wealth - it's not even about whether you are well connected or know the right people - it's about drive and determination.

"As long as you have that, you too can make it to the top of the ladder.

"Just look at some of the country's greatest entrepreneurs; Sir Alan Sugar, David Gold or Sir Richard Branson; none of them are intellectuals or academics.

"What they all have in common is an appetite for success; drive and an ambition to never give up".

Networking forum Business Consort was set up by Aurora Marketing's Dawn McGruer.

The forum currently boasts 500 members from the North-West business community, and McGruer says that this figure will top the 3,000 mark by the end of 2007, giving Business Consort a projected turnover of GBP300,000.

McGruer founded Aurora at 20, after working in the marketing department of car maker Volvo and then at JLG where she was employed as a consultant to the group's rental customers.

After launching Aurora, it soon became clear to McGruer that there was a huge demand for advisory services among the resource and cash-strapped SME community, many of which are often doing battle with the mega-budgets of international giants in a bid to get their products and services on to the marketplace.

She hit upon the idea of launching an online consultancy which was a huge success.

McGruer said: "We were inundated and the service proved to be an extremely useful advisory tool.

"However, because the demand was go great we realised that we could only continue to offer the consultancy service where as before we'd been spending a huge amount of time networking and establishing contacts for our clients.

"So we decided to put all the services except consultancy into a new venture, and Business Consort was born".

As well as free access to experts from the professional community, an option to showcase products at its Manchester trade show and online marketing opportunities, Business Consort offers its members regular networking events in south Manchester.

And, following its recent partnership with restaurant group Living Ventures, which owns the Living Room chain and Est Est Est, it has launched a new monthly networking event at Manchester's Grill On The Alley for both SMEs and larger firms.

The networking events, which include interactive business workshops as well as wine tasting, have been a huge success and regularly attract business people from all over the UK.

McGruer said: "Our concept is unique, not only because of the gourmet food and wine on offer, but because the forums are different from the traditional meet-and-greet and are very informal.

"We also facilitate contact between members as they wish, and we have an unrivalled business database available which is supplied by the UK's premier data firm.

"Getting ahead in business is also about networking, and the forum gives businesses the opportunity to get their products and services out there and meet potential clients and customers".

Now McGruer, who is a dedicated charity fundraiser - Business Consort donates one per cent of its revenue to children's charity When You Wish Upon A Star, and she has edited and published a book called 'Character Building' to raise cash for cancer research - is planning to expand the network across the UK.

She said: "Business Consort has now firmly established itself as the region's premier networking forum, and we are looking to emulate this success across the UK".
