Event promotes PAS 2020 DM standard
BSI is to host a free event focused on the PAS 2020 Direct Marketing (DM) Environmental Performance assessment and certification scheme.
The scheme is designed to help organisations involved in marketing take a more sustainable approach to their activities and reduce the amount of paper that ends up in landfill.
The event will take place on 19 March 2010 in Chiswick, where presentations will be given by organisations that have already gone through the assessment and certification process.
These include presentations by the Central Office of Information, Williams Lea and Sun Life Direct, which is nearing completion of the assessment process.
PAS 2020 was developed by BSI in conjunction with the Direct Marketing Association and other key parties.
The specification focuses on establishing a set of environmental objectives, performance levels and indicators for different environmental aspects of a direct marketing campaign.
The indicators provide an indirect measure of a direct marketing campaign's environmental impact.
The specification sets out requirements relating to both organisations with overall responsibility for direct marketing campaigns and to suppliers of activities relating to the provision of a direct marketing campaign such as direct marketing agencies, printers, mail houses, distribution service providers and field marketers.
