The British Promotional Merchandise Association has appointed Oliver Reynalds, 24, European account manager of Premier Promotional Services, as a BPMA board director.

Oliver Reynalds is the youngest board director co-opted in the 42-year history of the association, which stands for the promotion of the highest standards of business ethics in the supply of promotional merchandise and services while constantly striving for industry advancement.

His remit will be working alongside BPMA board director Gill Thorpe in developing the BPMA's new website services in addition to education.

Reynalds has worked on a number of high-profile projects including the development of new technologies.

He has previously headed the development of one of the first PC-based SMS text-messaging systems with mobile marketing group BWB.

He has also headed the third-party web marketing department at Gameplay plc, working with companies such as Freeserve (now Wanadoo), robbiewilliams.com, Orange, Yahoo, Mviva and BSkyb.

BPMA chairman David Lebond commented: "Oliver brings to the BPMA board not only the support of understanding new technologies and how to implement them in an ever-growing market, but also a keen passion for the industry.".
