Specialist marketing printer scoops
Green Award
Blackmore , a marketing specialist printer, has been announced as the winner of The Green Award for the South West by the British Chambers of Commerce.
The certificate was presented on 26 September at the Dorset Business networking lunch at the Mansion House, Poole, and Blackmore will now go on to compete against other regions for the opportunity of winning the national award that will be announced on 29 November 2007 Blackmore, entered for the award by its PR agency Mushroom Marketing, was regional winner in the category for The Green Award, a new category set up in 2007
This was introduced to recognise environmentally friendly British businesses; Blackmore had to demonstrate its commitment and show how the application of these practices has impacted on its business.
Blackmore's sales director, Aubrey Aviss, attended the lunch and commented: "It is fantastic to receive this award and enables us to once again prove our commitment to reducing the impact on the environment, rewarding all the hard work that has gone into building our company up to be ethical and environmentally friendly".
He added: "Environmental concerns are at the forefront of our business and this could not have been achieved without the help of everyone involved including all the staff and directors of Blackmore".
Blackmore is a large independent printer specialising in cold set web and promotional print and is part of the TH Brickell group of companies, which has a combined turnover of GBP12 million and employs over 110 staff.
Blackmore provides print solutions to marketing agencies around the UK.
As part of its ongoing commitment to greener printing practices Blackmore has recently achieved an environmental hat-trick through receiving the dual PEFC and FSC certification plus the ISO14001 Environmental standard that confirms it fulfills the strict criteria set by these organisations.
Clients are now able to feature the FSC and PEFC logos on their print jobs so they can prove their commitment to responsible manufacturing to their own customers, too.
