Bluehat UK creates Apprentice-based game

A Bluehat product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team May 15, 2007

Motivational experts Bluehat UK have created a game based on The Apprentice designed to emulate the TV show's drama and reveal the potential impact of good and not so good teamwork.

You may or may not like the show on TV called The Apprentice.

The way people behave on the programme may make you laugh; it may make you cringe.

Either way it's popular because it's dramatic and it reveals the potential impact of good and not so good teamwork.

That's one of the reasons why The Apprentice Team Building Challenge has been created by Bluehat UK.

Importantly, this team-building event is great fun.

There's enough competitive spirit to make the event exciting without teams becoming nasty (like you often see on the TV programme).

And there are enough different things to do that everyone is involved and interested throughout your event.

What's more, the event is charitable because the items that teams buy on the team-building event are donated to good causes.

Having fun is an important element to this event and while teams are having fun there are great opportunities to explore individual behaviour within a team and the impact this has on team performance.

If you know the TV programme you'll remember the two observers, Nick and Margaret, who are Sir Alan Sugar's aides.

In a similar way Bluehat can provide observers (we call them learning and development facilitators) who observe the teams in action and provide insights and feedback that can be used to highlight learning and development opportunities for your team.

This is useful for teams that are both newly formed and those that are well established because an event like The Apprentice Team Building Challenge brings out some interesting and creative planning, negotiation and management skills that may not have been visible before.

If you would like more information on this new product or would like expert comment on team building or learning and development do not hesitate to contact Bluehat.
