BIG Conference 2008 - delegates' views

A BIG Conference product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team Jul 4, 2008

Yet again the BIG Conference is rated a hit for content, value for money and ability to network.

"The conference itself was terrific - the papers, the presenters, the networking/socialising opportunities - really top-notch" said one of those attending the May 2008 BIG Conference at the Marriott St Pierre, Chepstow.

Sixty-nine of those attending completed a delegates questionnaire providing useful feedback.

It was a young conference with many young speakers and young delegates.

For around half those attending, it was their first conference, and three-quarters were under 44.

They were mainly there through recommendation from colleagues, as one said: "The prestige that the conference carries - the reputation".

The main reasons for attending, which seem to have been justified, were "Keeping up to date with latest thinking and networking with a view to business opportunities".

The hotel facilities and social side were rated well but this year the papers scored particularly highly with the client session (RBS and HSBC banks) and debate on procurement particularly appreciated.

Over 95 per cent feel it's good value for money and the great majority are likely to come again.

Overall, really useful feedback on a really great conference.
