Jazz Age events hit London this Christmas

London's City slickers can make like Al Capone when Christmas parties specialist Best Parties Ever stages its "Christmas and all that jazz" themed events.

The Jazz Age and Prohibition themed parties will have an all-the-more authentic flavour, as the venue will be the recently converted 1920s theatre Troxy, where a grand staircase and original Tiffany stained-glass ceiling are just two of the building's original features.

Party goers will find themselves in Chicago of 1928, with prohibition in full swing and bootlegging gangs ruling the streets.

Whispering the secret password will gain them entry into the shadowy world of the speakeasy.

They can then head for the hot and lively Jumpin' Jazz Bar to hear the amazing Ding Dong Daddios, or chill out with Champagne accompanied by foot tappin' jazz tunes.

The jazz performances continue through a superb four-course dinner, followed by exhilarating bursts of Showgirl Cabaret.

Then, it's time for partygoers to find the illicit gambling den and try their luck at roulette and blackjack, dance the night away or try their hand at the dodgems.

Christmas and all that jazz will run at the Troxy from Tuesday 4 December to Saturday 8 December.

Best Parties Ever's MD, Tim Stevens, explained: "Party organisers have learned that the better the party, the earlier they need to book; it is clear that the City's workers like what they've seen on our website as bookings have already started coming in.

"We offer so much more than just the traditional dinner and disco for prices that start from only GBP54.50 plus VAT per person".

During last year's festivities Best Parties Ever's guests consumed a mind-boggling quantity of Christmas fare including: 25 tons of chicken breast; 140,000 bread rolls; 38,000 pounds of mashed potato, and 15 tons of vegetables.

Bookings are now being taken for this year's events, for any sized group from 10 to 1,000 people.

Best Parties Ever ran its first themed Christmas Party in 1999.

In 2007 the company will be operating in 12 locations: London (City), LegoLand Windsor, Syon Park (West London), Walton on Thames, Maidstone, Watford, Reading, Essex, Farnborough, Towcester, Cardiff and Thorpe Park (Surrey).

Best Parties Ever will entertain over 120,000 people at Christmas this year.

Parties are set within a luxurious marquee or structure, the theme of which is changed annually.

Guests arrive at 7.15pm and at 8.15pm a four-course dinner is served which is prepared on site.

At 9.45pm the entertainment starts which, dependent on the theme, includes dancers and/or musicians, a state of the art disco, dodgems, casino tables, rodeo rides and so on.

The evening ends at either 12.30am or 1.00am.
