Bell breaks into China
Leading design and brand communications agency Bell is heading to China on a government-backed trade mission to engage new partners.
UK Trade and Investment is backing the five-day trip, which has been set up to form partnerships with creative agencies in China Bell founder and managing director Alan Bell is making the trip with business development director Claire Nicholls
They are in Beijing from 7-12 November.
The pair are meeting Chinese design, communications and marketing agencies working with clients who are selling to western audiences.
Alan Bell said that Chinese companies were developing quickly and paying more attention to how their goods are marketed in foreign markets rather than just acting as an anonymous manufacturing hub.
"It is the obvious next step for an exporting super-power to see how they can get more from the work they are doing", he said.
"They are desperate to understand the UK and European market and we see that our experiences as London's most established independent design and brand communications agency would prove invaluable".
Bell and Nicholls have had meetings with China Britain Business Council trade experts who have arranged contact with marketing and communications agencies in Beijing.
Bell works with public and private sector clients in the UK and Europe including The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, BAA, ACE, Energy Technologies Institute and The Red Cross.
Bell said it was an exciting time to be visiting China: "The opportunities are enormous and there is no reason why companies in China and the UK should not work together to offer a truly global service".
Bell and Nicholls will use the trade mission to start a blog mapping out their progress.
