Work starts on new Aston Hotel Sheffield
Work has started on building the new 78-room Aston Hotel and Conference Centre at Sheffield Business Park, which will provide quality accommodation designed specifically for the business user.
The £5.7 million hotel will provide conference facilities for up to 100 delegates, a restaurant and bar, ample free car parking and free wi-fi throughout the hotel The hotel opens in April 2008, and will create 40 jobs

Tony Elliott, development director of Aston Hotels, said: "Sheffield will be the third hotel in the Aston chain with Neath, South Wales opening summer 2008.
"Our product is tailor-made to meet the needs of business customers and we are confident that our investment at Sheffield Business Park will hopefully enhance the Business Park's appeal to prospective tenants.
"I particularly would like to thank the staff at Sheffield Business Park and our partner consultants for their invaluable help in bringing our development to fruition".
Welcoming Aston Hotels Sheffield as a significant addition to the 200-acre development's growing community, Business Park manager Rebecca Wyatt said: "We have a wide range of occupiers including a number of regional, national and international businesses - the presence of such a high-quality hotel literally on the doorstep is a significant asset for them and further enhances the range of facilities we offer as the region's largest business park".
The hotel has been designed by Waring and Netts Partnership, project managed by Elliott Projects and constructed by Metnor Construction - all Newcastle upon Tyne based companies.
