Aqueduct delivers sparky launch for
museum
Integrated agency Aqueduct has encapsulated the spirit of The Lightbox, a stunning new gallery and museum space for the South-East, with bright, modern and off-the-wall marketing materials.
The London-based agency has set the look and feel of what's been dubbed the 'out-of-town-answer to Tate Modern', through its design of The Lightbox logo, the quarterly Lightbox Guide and a leaflet promoting the venue's hands-on family exhibition that takes visitors behind the scenes of much-loved Aardman Animations, with original sets from the Oscar-winning film 'Wallace and Gromit: the Curse of the Were-Rabbit' "We have gone for a bold, yet sophisticated design that really sums up the fabulous space and family focus of this stunning venue," explained Clive Russell, Aqueduct senior designer

Aqueduct to create gateway to England website
Integrated creative agency Aqueduct has won a six-way pitch to create an inspiring, engaging and visitor-centric gateway to VisitBritain's domestic marketing website, enjoyengland.com.
"When we visited the Lightbox, we were knocked out by the colourful effects within the space created by natural light shining through the building's diachronic glass light installation.
"Visitors will be surrounded by colour and we wanted to reflect that throughout the marketing materials.
"As The Lightbox is a family-oriented venue we wanted to create a modern feel, but one that did not exclude anyone by being too 'out there' and we feel we have achieved exactly that balance.

Spencer du Bois bolsters ethical offer
Third-sector branding specialist Spencer du Bois has appointed Diana Gayle to lead the agency's expansion into the ethical sector.
"We have included a lot of imagery showing the kinds of people we expect will visit The Lightbox, doing the kind of hands-on things available.
"The Lightbox provides an awesome setting and promises a wonderful visitor experience and we feel the material we have created does it justice." The venue in Woking, Surrey, which promotes itself through the strapline 'Art turned on, History lit up', has been designed by Marks Barfield Architects, creators of the London Eye.
Aqueduct Managing Director Rob Oubridge, said: "This is a key campaign for The Lightbox as it will set the tone and future style of all its public and corporate communication, which is why we are so pleased to have struck the right tone with these contemporary looking pieces, designed to look good but with the ability to flex and develop with each exhibition".
The agency has a solid background in marketing arts and entertainment venues and events, catering already for clients such as Cineworld and the highly prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards.
The company won the brief in July this year following a three-way pitch having impressed the Lightbox management with a set of bespoke solutions to the specific issues facing The Lightbox.
"We spent several fact-finding days in Woking identifying the local issues and finding out about this go-ahead town which allowed us to tailor our pitch to its needs," added Oubridge.
"We shy away from generic solutions and took a lot of time focusing on the problems facing the venue and providing creative solutions".
The Lightbox is a unique project, which grew from the demands of a local group into a GBP7m community initiative.
It has attracted Heritage Lottery funding, substantial backing from the local authority, national charities and major arts funders as well as corporate sponsors.
Marilyn Scott, Director of The Lightbox, said: "We were impressed with Aqueduct's creativity, understanding of our brand, target audiences and the challenges that lay ahead of us.
"This campaign had to create instant impact and make a real statement about The Lightbox and all it offers to the visitor.
"Aqueduct's clear, contemporary and cool design has high impact and delivers a mass of information in a clever and easy to navigate format - it sums up this fantastic community venue perfectly and we are delighted with the results".
As well as creating the launch campaign, which is expected to cover a wide spectrum of communication channels both on and offline, and support the PR campaign, Aqueduct is set to continue as The Lightbox's full service agency promoting forthcoming exhibitions and events to the wider community throughout the South-East.
