Laureus Sports Awards turn to Aqueduct
Design and advertising agency Aqueduct has raised the bar on design with the print collateral it has created for the sporting world's prestigious global event The Laureus World Sports Awards.
The Clerkenwell-based "agency with a difference" has created a stylish guest experience identity for the 2007 event, taking place in Barcelona from 1-2 April, which is televised globally to more than 700 million viewers in 190 countries Working closely with the Laureus team, Aqueduct has produced a stunning set of event literature, which communicates the excitement, prestige and world-class nature of the awards that "celebrate the universal power of sport"

Strategic branding and creative design consultancy WPA Pinfold answered the prayers of Leeds-based television production company True North by packaging their programme pitch to the BBC.
The brochure includes background on the work the Laureus Good Sport Foundation does in helping children and promoting social change, with the backing of famous sportsmen and women like Sebastian Coe, Boris Becker, Michael Jordan and Nadia Comaneci.
Matching literature includes an award invitation pack and a guest information booklet.
Aqueduct already delivers an interactive website for a supporting charity venture between Laureus and global broking firm ICAP that raises money for the foundation's work (www.bidthedream.com).
Rob Oubridge, Aqueduct managing director, said: "The marketing collateral works really hard to better represent the entire Laureus organisation and differentiate the 2007 event from previous years, not least as 2006 was also held in Barcelona.
"Our design solution provides a 2007 mark that acts as both descriptor and design element enabling a distinct 2007 identification that doesn't fight with the overall Laureus brand presence.
He added: "A more contemporary 'editorial' design caters for the organisation's diverse messaging needs".
David Butler, marketing director of Laureus, said: "My first experience of Aqueduct was through our collaboration with EBS (ICAP) and I was instantly impressed.
"After a pitch process in which they further demonstrated their creativity and client handling skills, they were appointed as Laureus' design agency and we have worked a very creative and stylish brief for the Laureus World Sports Awards 2007.
"That work has captured the spirit of the event which is all about celebrating excellence while providing solid and engaging background information about the foundation's mission.
"The pack meets the brief's challenges brilliantly, conveying the excitement of this prestigious event as well as communicating our raison d'etre.
