News International, Caspian Publishing, MediaClash and River Publishing have joined the Association of Publishing Agencies, the trade body tasked with growing the customer publishing market.

In March this year, APA launched APA ASK a free, comprehensive new business service for companies considering investing in a customer magazine.

Already APA ASK has resulted in 10 pitches resulting in six new magazines from major brands including Audi and Bang and Olufsen.

APA is also currently working with over 40 prospective clients with potential business worth over £30 million of incremental spend to the industry.

Simon Tapscott of MediaClash said: "This is a great time to be in customer publishing, and we're delighted to have joined the APA.

"Few trade organisations can claim to champion the services of its members as much as the APA, and new services such as APA ASK make membership a no-brainer.

"It's a dynamic organisation and we intend to make the most out of our membership".

Emily Travis, Head of Customer Publishing, Royal Mail, said: "The APA continues to punch above its weight - the introduction of four new members demonstrates the relevance of the APA, which already has over 90% of the total market place under its umbrella.

"It is testament to the value that the APA team's experience and hard work brings to its members.

"As a result customer magazines are increasingly being viewed by marketing directors as a must-have, not just because they engage customers, but because they deliver hard results against a marketer's specific goals".

Julia Hutchison, COO of APA, commented: "It is great to welcome new (and returning) members to the APA as it reaffirms what we believe, that the customer publishing market is continuing to flourish.

"Our remit is to grow the market and deliver tangible business benefits for our members and we are continuing to innovate to ensure that this is exactly what we do.
