Edited by the Marketingservicestalk editorial team May 14, 2008

Ambergreen, one of the UK's top search marketing companies, won the top prize for 'online excellence' at this year's Marketing Society's Marketing Excellence Awards Scotland 2008.

The award was made for Ambergreen's work with MyTravel to transform one of the largest names in travel from an underperforming online brand into an e-Superbrand.

Over the last three years MyTravel has seen a 400 per cent plus increase in business booked online.

Passenger volume and revenues have also increased by over 400 per cent and the campaign resulted in projected cost savings in excess of GBP600K.

Every year the Marketing Society launches a search for the stars of marketing excellence in Scotland.

The Marketing Society developed these prestigious awards to promote best practice and to recognise the marketing stars that provide direction and inspiration for all.

Tino Nombro, Ambergreen MD, commented: "Ambergreen has won this award thanks to our pioneering approach to search marketing.

"We are still one of the best search marketing agencies in the UK.

"We work in the toughest and most competitive sectors and we get the results needed to help our clients grow their business".

This announcement follows a strong period of growth and expansion during which Ambergreen appointed new chairman, advertising guru John Denholm, and acquired digital agency Lightershade.

Ambergreen has is now working towards achieving the same transformation for the Thomas Cook Group, owner of MyTravel.
