An Alterian product story

Alterian has launched the Professional Edition of its Content Manager system.

This product is said to combine the company's experience in content management systems (CMS) and its track record of collaboration with Microsoft into one package for partners and customers looking to build an online identity on the Microsoft platform.

Alterian Content Manager, Professional Edition (ACM-P) is shipped with an extensive ASP.NET sample website to enable rapid implementation, including more than 25 fully documented components (.ascx controls) ready to be customised.

These components include many of the essential areas of site functionality, such as navigation, news, forms, sitemap and search features; as well as social media functionality such as blogs, polls, RSS feed subscriptions and a rich-media player.

As a result, Alterian claimed websites can be up and running in just a few weeks, while offering a set of contemporary features that help businesses engage with their audiences in order to build long-term profitable relationships.

ACM-P offers many similar features as Alterian Content Manager, Enterprise Edition (ACM-E), but with several introduced properties - including a maximum number of sites, servers and users allowed - mid-sized companies can now also benefit from this CMS solution in a configuration appropriate to their size and budget.

ACM-P is based on Microsoft technology, making it beneficial to partners and clients in the mid-market that wish to implement their websites purely on this platform.

Based on SQL Server, ASP.NET delivery and utilising concepts such as Master Pages and Data Providers, it works intuitively with Microsoft Visual Studio and helps companies build an engaging online identity.
