Statistics program offers advanced
graphics

GenStat 9 offers a range of analytical techniques backed up with state of the art graphics, a friendly graphical user interface and comprehensive statistical programming facilities.

Adept Scientific has released the latest version of GenStat, the pioneering statistics software program GenStat 9 offers a vast range of tried and tested high-quality analytical techniques backed up with state of the art graphics, a friendly graphical user interface plus comprehensive statistical programming facilities

First developed at Rothamsted Experimental Station over 30 years ago, GenStat was the world's first computer software for statistical analysis.

It has evolved continuously since then, and in its latest release, is one of the most powerful, flexible and capable statistics programs on the market.

The new release includes two new directives, 64 new procedures and two new functions.

Interface improvements include a new docked data pane and window navigator, and easier searching of lists of example programs and procedure source.

New graphics menus include a species abundance plot menu for producing rank/abundance, ABC or k-dominance plots; and a Lorenz curve menu.

There are also new menus for statistical tests (T-test, non-parametric correlations, Cochran's Q test); species abundance distributions; split-line regressions and linear regressions; survey analysis weightings; analysis of variance (ANOVA); and mixed models (REML).

GenStat's spreadsheet facilities have also been significantly extended.

Spreadsheets can now be stored in multi-paged books where each spreadsheet is represented by a different page within a book.

Data can be brought into a GenStat spreadsheet simultaneously from multiple files, or from multiple worksheets in an Excel file.

Other new spreadsheet tools include a menu to randomise rows, a new cell selection mode for selecting irregular arrangements of cells, column drag-and-drop between sheets, and more.

This latest release adds to the file formats supported by GenStat.

The program now supports SAS catalogues defining value labels; JMP 4 and 5, Paradox 7-9, SPSS 13-14 file formats and R gzip compressed data frames.

Files can also be imported from zip archives.

Unlike many other systems which are sold in modules, GenStat is a complete solution, featuring an extensive choice of analyses for a wide range of users.

The accessible graphical interface and the logical, straightforward command language make the power of GenStat readily available to users with any level of computing experience, non-specialists and professional statisticians alike.
