Acquire Premier digital signage platform has API

An Acquire Digital Multimedia product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team Aug 2, 2010

Acquire has released the latest version of the Acquire Premier digital signage software platform, which includes an API that will enable users to create their own digital signage solution.

This means that if the user wants to develop their own web-based software-as-a-service (Saas) solution then they can simply use the Acquire Editor on their web server, produce a web-based front end and use the API to link the Acquire system to it.

An advantage of Acquire's design is that it is a plug-in-based platform.

With access to the API, users can now write their own plug-ins (called ACQs and Helpers).

Other access functions include: the ability to create pages and playlists; the invoking of content deployments and the production of proof of play-out and other reports.

There are also web-based functions so that users can make their own scheduling system.

You can create icons for any compatible media type, and preview all media - graphics, video, Flash (videos transcoded to Flash Video so they can be viewed in the browser).

There are also functions to integrate with support ticketing systems.
